Best quotation on the Howard Stern–American Idol tie-up

The best quotation in the American media this week? In my opinion, it would have to be this:

Howard Stern is being considered to replace Simon Cowell when he leaves “American Idol” after this season.
Apparently Satan was out of Fox’s price range.

From Tony Hicks in the Contra Costa Times.

Stern is aggressive, no doubt about that, but he’s a different kind of aggressive than Cowell is– not to mention Stern is NOT part of the music industry while Cowell most definitely is.

Did you catch Craig Ferguson’s interview of Rosie O’Donnell? I suggest you do… it was pretty surreal how she spoke so highly of Stern and his craft, and that working with him was going well.

I know this quote is supposed to be humorous but with the context I’m describing, it’s becomes a really, really wry wit.. almost sardonic, I guess.
