Autocade reaches 39 million page views

Here we are, 39 million page views on Autocade, as the stats’ counter ticked over to 11,361,125 earlier today (which we add to the previous installation’s 27,647,011).

It’s two months, 16 days since we were at 38 million, and as July and August were leap months, that’s 78 days. Last time it was 50 days.

We managed the milestone last time despite having fewer additions to the site: 24 models were added then, whereas 49 were added since my last post on this subject.

Admittedly, there were more Chinese SUVs and MPVs among that latest 49, none of which set the heart racing. We also added a bunch of Mercurys recently, and I doubt there’s much interest in a defunct marque. In so many cases, I feel we’re filling in gaps now, of niche vehicles. Lots of sporting models are to be added—plenty of exotica from Ferrari, Lamborghini, Monteverdi, Iso Rivolta and the like—but sometimes I feel we need to cover as much of the mass market as possible.

With 5,108 models on the site, the latest is the unexciting first-generation BMW X3.

It’s a bit of a worry to see the page views tick over more slowly.

Though hopefully with fewer disinformation posts going up about me—how interesting, this happened after I put this on Semrush’s Reddit—I can devote more time to the websites again.

The leaderboard has changed a little, but not much: the patterns are settling in now that we’ve had this new installation for a couple of years. Previous positions from the last post are in parentheses.

Ford Taunus 80 (1) 15,750
Opel Astra J (2) 11,540
Daewoo Winstorm (3) 11,214
Ford Fiesta Mk VII (4) 10,677
Renault Mégane II (6) 10,566
IKCO Samand (7) 10,367
Renault Mégane III (5) 10,353
Peugeot 206+, 207 (8) 10,251
Daewoo Lacetti (J300) (10) 10,250
Rover SD1 (11) 9,874

If little interesting happens on the leaderboard going forward, I might drop this from the next update, since traditionally I didn’t talk about it. It was only interesting when you saw the models jostle for positions, likely based on who did better in the search engines. Though that never really explained the Iranian surge last year (when the IKCO Samand and other Iranian cars shot up the table in a very short space of time).
