There are still some disinformation articles out there that Semrush caused, and one that was more recent—after Semrush’s admission that my name was actually never trending—is from a mob called Emerald Sky Group (emeraldskygroup.com). I’ve advised them on email and in the comments to a sycophantic post about them that what they have written is bogus, and, unlike those who were embarrassed they got it wrong, these folks are quite happy to be wrong and be seen by the wider public as fools and liars. In that case, so be it, this is clearly what they want to say about their brand.
What is pathetic is they evidently cannot stand on their own two feet without using someone else’s name and making false claims. The dozen instances with my name on a single page are all BS, and they liberally use it in headlines and text—this is probably the most extreme case pushed by the disinformation merchants this year.
For anyone researching Emerald Sky, Marco Baez, Emilio Rivas or the rest of their team, please be advised I have absolutely no connection to these people, they are not a preferred partner to me or my company, and whatever they have written about me, as in so many cases this year, is bogus.
And as we all know, there is no one with my name working in SEO, so it’s not even a case of mistaken identity. Like those who included my real personal background in their posts, this is a sad attempt to trade off someone else’s reputation.
The worst company to deal with in removing illegal content is Google, who seems to love the stuff for its Cloud Platform. In one case, Google kept asking us for the same thing over and over. We kept providing the answers over and over. They kept pretending not to see it. Basically, in 15 years, nothing has changed. Still a bunch of gaslighters.
Other hosting companies have been a real pleasure to deal with and exhibited considerably more integrity than Google. Hostinger, Hetzner and 20i come to mind. I won’t say more about who lacked their integrity, lest dodgy players like Emerald Sky and others begin using them.
In the 1990s, people called the World Wide Web a wild west. In the 1990s I never saw the sheer deception, accelerated to an industrial scale by “AI”, as I do now. This is the wild west.
