When referring to ‘a techno-authoritarian surveillance state’ is not alarmist

If you watch one in-depth interview this week, it should be this one: Jon Stewart interviewing Carole Cadwalladr, on broligarchs, “AI”, and a techno-authoritarian surveillance state.

And no, not a single component of that title is alarmist. We have been watching the world head to this point right through the 2010s, except now it’s accelerating even more.

It can be stopped or slowed, but what is bizarre is that the US isn’t doing much about these corporations in their own country. The law offers some protections, and it needs to be enforced. I wish I could be all high and mighty here, but the fact is most of the Anglosphere has been pretty inactive in dealing with the tech bros. If you don’t fight for your freedom, you can lose it—and that’s ultimately the message here.

I know, I’m embedding from YouTube—far from ideal.
